overall basic model

so heres my over all basic model that ive completed and now i just have to add more details in the arms and wheels of the robot making it look better than this.

brain problems

so ive completed the overall body of the robot however my main problem is the brain , modelling the brain is harder due to the fact that it has wrinkles and all , so i looked at tutorials and all but was unable to find one that i could understand properly so i decided upon just using a polygon sphere and then from there changing the vertices and continually modelling it and then smoothing it and changing the vertices a bit more each time to get a better overall shape

so looking on it i modelled the brain very basically and from there ive decided that i will create the veins through the shader adding a bumb map into the texture , however i realised that because i left it late i could of instead learnt how to use displacement mapping onto the model to make it a better looking brain , i decided after this project thats one of the things i will now look at and so i can be better prepared when it comes to texturing things

into maya we go!!

so now ive just added my side and front concept into maya and will now being my modelling hopefully everything will work out and fine and should be cool

decided upon

so i looked at all my concepts and decided upon instead of doing the zoo keeper, i decided on this due to the fact that i noticed that most people all chose to do the gorilla and that everyone had the same ideas of what to do for their gorilla including myself , my realisation on this led me to make the zoo keeper now my zoo keeper will be a robot with the main idea is that its a brain in a jar and it will look very old and rusty.

ideas for 3D character

So we started this project last week and had a look at the brief , so from looking at it found out had a choice of like 5 character and the whole idea of it all is like they all going to the zoo . YAY THE ZOOO WOOOP WOOP lol so looking at the choices of the characters too choose from i liked alot the idea of the gorilla and what the brief said about him: Cornelius – “A middle aged silver back gorilla, the most civilised and sensible occupant of the zoo by far.” so straight away from reading that i had in my mind of like a gorilla with like glasses a bubble pipe and tie and like a bottle of banana whiskey or something like that lol but yeah its only a basic idea and just thinking of different ideas for it , i figured ill still make some basic concepts on one of the other character choices just so ive got some variety for all i know i may want to do the gorilla but my concept for like the lil kid or the zoo keeper might look more original and creative than for the gorilla so yeah lol . also from jus looking at the brief wanting it too look like claymation obviously first thing to mind wierdly is nightmare before christmas and wallace and gromit then thinking on the gorilla i remember watching a programme on i think bbc called creature comforts which was a claymation of like animals being interviewed which i always found hillarious so i googled some pictures of it and like looked at some youtube clips and for now thats all i got on ideas. ^_^
